Books inform – Fear Of Missing Out: The fear of missing something

When teenagers and young adults live their lives through a virtual filter, they are more prone to FOMO. Worrying too much about what everyone else is doing causes teenagers to miss out on their own lives, lose their sense of identity, and lower their self-esteem. According to a survey by National Stress and Wellbeing in Australia, 60 percent of teenagers worry when they find out their friends are having fun without them. And 51 percent get scared when they don’t know what their friends are doing. According to researchers, there is a real link between the number of hours spent using digital technology and higher levels of stress and depression.
