BOOSTHEAT: BOOSTHEAT DEMONSTRATES FOR THE FIRST TIME THE CAPACITY OF ITS THERMAL COMPRESSOR TO PRODUCE COLD AT LOW TEMPERATURE – 09/11/2023 at 08:00

Vénissieux, September 11, 2023

BOOSTHEAT (FR0011814938 / BOOST), a French industrial and software player in energy efficiency, announces new results from its laboratory tests, opening up new commercial prospects for its thermal compressor.

I FIRST RETURN ON INVESTMENT FOR THE “THERMAL COMPRESSION SOLUTIONS” ACTIVITY

, BOOSTHEAT has announced the expansion of its laboratory capacities, thanks to its advanced test resources. This enrichment is part of the strategic roadmap of the “Thermal Compression Solutions” activity, the main objective of which is to concentrate its resources on its technological brick, the thermal compressor, in order to identify innovative technological concepts and qualify their industrial applications, in collaboration with partners, in order to offer new solutions meeting energy efficiency needs.

These new means made it possible to carry out a new test campaign on its thermal compressors, highlighting the potential of its technology in the face of the challenges of future industrial applications. In this innovative approach, BOOSTHEAT started its first activities with particular emphasis on demonstrating the capacity of its technology to produce cold, an application never demonstrated in the past. The developed thermal compressor is specially designed to compress CO

a fluid recognized for its remarkable cooling properties due to its low critical temperature.

I PRODUCTION OF NEGATIVE COLD ACCORDING TO THE NF EN 12900 STANDARD

This test campaign aims to produce negative cold. It was carried out according to the NF EN 12900 standard setting the conditions for determining the characteristics, tolerances and presentation of performances by the manufacturer of compressors for refrigerant fluids.

The main purpose of these tests was to confirm the ability of the thermal compressor to produce chilled water at low temperatures between -5°C and -20°C. As a result of these tests, it was demonstrated that the current compressor can generate cooling capacities of up to 6.3 kW

Engineering teams have confirmed that BOOSTHEAT’s thermal compressor is well suited to producing chilled water at low temperatures.

I MANY FIELDS OF APPLICATION TO EXPLORE

Although the tests were carried out with a machine initially designed for heat production, future optimizations will increase the cold production capacity and associated performance or achieve even lower temperatures to broaden the scope of apps.

More generally, this demonstration brings BOOSTHEAT into a new era. The Company, historically positioned on a single use and a single application of its technology with its boiler, could in the future include its technology in all refrigeration and cold production systems.

Emilien Benhard, COO of BOOSTHEAT, says: “

The refrigerating capacities of the BOOSTHEAT thermal compressor have now been demonstrated and we are very satisfied with this new success. This demonstration opens up prospects for cascading use with traditional refrigeration systems to benefit from the performance of CO

at low temperature. It is obvious that the compressor’s ability to efficiently exploit heat sources (waste heat, combustion from biogas, etc.) as an energy vector represents a strategic interest for manufacturers in their energy transition. We look forward to sharing these results with our partners and prospects. This could open the way to a new way of designing refrigeration and cold production systems with an efficient and environmentally friendly technological core.

Hugo Brugière, CEO of BOOSTHEAT, adds: “

I would like to salute the work of all the teams who succeeded, within the tight deadlines, in implementing the new laboratory and taking advantage of it thanks to this great test campaign. This demonstrates the full potential of BOOSTHEAT, its technological know-how, and the relevance of having built an ambitious recovery plan.
