Boosting parity to counter labor shortages


In France, only 18 of the 87 professional families are considered to be mixed.

This is starting to cause serious problems. While the economic recovery is accentuating labor shortages in many sectors, the lack of diversity in the sectors is depriving companies of large pools of potential candidates. Figures from the French statistics institute (Insee) attest to this. Of the 87 professional families listed, only 18 are considered to be mixed, that is to say, which can display a ratio of 60% to 40% between the two sexes. Nearly half of working women are thus concentrated in ten of these 87 families, while half of the men occupy positions in 17 of these occupational groups.
