Borat: He's back with a sequel to Amazon Prime

Shortly before the US presidential elections, cult figure Borat returns with a second film. The sequel appears on Amazon Prime.

14 years ago Sacha Baron Cohen (48, "Brüno") danced across the screen in a bright green thong bathing suit and created a cult figure with Borat. During the corona pandemic, the comedian quietly filmed a sequel about the Kazakh reporter. As the US magazine "Variety" reports, this second part will appear worldwide on Amazon Prime in October.

According to the online magazine "Deadline", Cohen wanted to publish his socially critical satire before the US elections in early November. The fact that the current President Donald Trump (74) should play a bigger role in the new film indicated a possible "Borat" promo video on Twitter on. On Tuesday the recently created account "Republic of Kazakhstan" published a clip in which Trump was ironically congratulated on the victory even before the presidential debate. It is emphasized several times that the president has not had a stroke and is committed to women. The bottom line is "This advertisement may contain false statements".

The title of the second film should also already be determined. The first mockumentary was officially called "Borat – Cultural Learning of America to Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan". The sequel is said to be titled similarly complicated with "Borat: Gift of Pornographic Monkey to Vice Premiere Mikhael Pence to Make Benefit Recently Diminished Nation of Kazakhstan". Translated it means "Borat: Gift of a pornographic monkey to Vice Prime Minister Mikhael Pence to support the recently receded nation of Kazakhstan". An exact release date is not yet known.
