Lhe position had been vacant for six months and the departure of Arnaud Leroy, architect of Emmanuel Macron’s energy program during his 2017 campaign. At the time, the candidate promised the closure of around fifteen nuclear reactors by to 2025 and the former EELV activist had logically been promoted, after the election, to the head of the Environment and Energy Management Agency (Ademe), responsible for supporting the government’s choices in matter of energy transition. But, since then, the presidential strategy has changed, and Arnaud Leroy joined the private sector a few weeks after the Belfort speech, confirming the reversal of the president in favor of the atom.

In a terse press release released on December 3, Emmanuel Macron has – finally – made his choice to replace him…
