(CercleFinance.com) – Bouygues Telecom announces the deployment of XGS-PON technology, starting with Paris. Through a monthly option, Parisians will be able to be offered a speed of up to 8 Gbit/s.
XGS-PON (10 Gigabits Symmetric Passive Optical Network) is the latest technological evolution of fiber (FttH).
‘This new technology, more efficient than existing fiber optic technologies (GPON), offers power and data transmission speed allowing a connection up to 4 times faster’, assures the operator.
Bouygues Telecom indicates that it has rolled out this new standard in Paris and is continuing to invest in order to offer it soon in several major cities.
