To remember
It’s going strong for Kung Fu Panda 4 ! The DreamWorks animated film takes first place with almost 200,000 admissions for its first day in France, including half in preview. This is the 2nd best start of 2024, behind Dune 2 (260,811 admissions for its first day) and just ahead of Bob Marley: One Love (197,950 admissions).
On the scale of the Kung Fu Panda saga, it is better than Kung Fu Panda 3 in 2016 (184,019), but worse than Kung Fu Panda 2 in 2011 (237,752) and the first part in 2008 (201,066 ).
Two French films on the podium
In 2nd and 3rd position we find two French films: The Green Promise by Edouard Bergeon who can count on a significant number of previews, and No waves, with François Civil. Note, in 4th position, a film present in competition at Cannes in May 2023: The Queen’s Gamewith an unrecognizable Jude Law as King Henry VIII, and Alicia Vikander.
