Boxer Tony Yoka has not been very kind to UFC boss Dana White over how much money MMA fighters get.
The Frenchman, who will be opposed to Martin Bakole next May in Paris, spoke at the microphone of Booska-P on a subject that has been debated lately. While Francis Ngannou, winner of Ciryl Gane in January, had criticized the prestigious organization which does not pay athletes enough, the 2016 Olympic heavyweight champion gave his opinion.
“They don’t make money in MMA! (…) Gane VS Ngannou, Ngannou takes what? $800,000 / $900,000? Gane takes $400,000. Fury boxing Wilder: Fury takes 60 million, Wilder takes 40 million! We are not in the same world!”, released Tony Yoka.
For those who dream of world belts in a while, the culprit is none other than Dana White, the president of the UFC. “Even if you don’t want to pay a lot, you give 3 or 4 million to Ngannou and 2 or 3 million to Ciryl Gane, what does it cost Dana?! Nothing, but it’s such a crevard!”, He tackled.
Tony Yoka also takes the example of Ciryl Gane and the 400,000 dollars he won during his defeat against the Cameroonian. “That’s 350,000 euros, you take away 20% that you give to your staff.
