bp: start of production on the Seagull field

(CercleFinance.com) – bp announces that it has successfully started production at the Seagull oil and gas field in the British North Sea, thus supporting the continuous production of an offshore installation in operation for 25 years.

Seagull was developed by Neptune Energy as a subsea tie-in to the central processing facility (CPF) of a project located in the central North Sea, approximately 140 miles east of Aberdeen.

The new field is expected to produce about 50,000 barrels of crude oil equivalent per day at peak production. Oil from Seagull will be exported to Grangemouth, in central Scotland, and gas to Teesside, in the north-east of England.
