In an interview Bradley Cooper (48) reveals that he has been sober for 19 years.

In conversation with the British adventurer Bear Grylls (49) in the Wyoming Canyons said the actor according to the “Daily Mail”that he doesn’t feel lost in fame. Grylls asks, “But you’ve definitely had some wild years?” Cooper then admits: “In terms of alcohol and drugs, yes, but it had nothing to do with fame. But I was lucky. I quit when I was 29 and I’ve been sober for 19 years. [Ich hatte] very much luck.”

Regarding his role as an alcoholic musician on “A Star Is Born,” Cooper said his experiences made it easier for him to step into the role. “And thank God I was at a point in my life where I was dealing with all of this, so I could really let myself go.” The film, starring Cooper and Lady Gaga (37), received seven nominations at the 2019 Oscars. It was also the Hollywood star’s directorial debut.

During the adventurous interview, Cooper also spoke about his father, who died in 2011 with lung cancer in his son’s arms: “I definitely had a nihilistic attitude to life after.” Finally he realized “that I just have to accept who I really am. And try to make peace with it. And then it kind of leveled off again.”
