Fans had to look twice to recognize Hollywood star Gary Oldman (65) on the red carpet at the Golden Globes. The Oscar winner surprised with an unconventional look. The actor wore his long gray hair braided in a French braid, as he happily explained to the US magazine “Deadline”.. “People” also shows this creative hairstyle of the actor from behind.

A long gray beard and dark sunglasses made it even harder to recognize the 65-year-old. With a grin on his face, he posed stylishly in a black tuxedo for the waiting photographers.

No luck at the Golden Globes

Oldman was up for Best Male Lead in a Drama Series for the series “Slow Horses.” The actor had to admit defeat to “Succession” star Kieran Culkin (41). Oldman won a Golden Globe in 2018 for his performance as legendary Prime Minister Winston Churchill (1874-1965) in the film “Darkest Hour.” The role also brought him the Oscar he longed for.

Since 2022, Oldman has been playing the lead role of the eccentric Jackson Lamb in the Apple TV+ series “Slow Horses – A Case for Jackson Lamb”. The streaming service confirmed a fifth season of its successful series just a few days ago. Other roles include Kristin Scott Thomas (63), Jonathan Pryce (76), Jack Lowden (33) and Saskia Reeves (62). As Oldman revealed on the sidelines of the Globes “Deadline”, filming will begin in February.

The darkly humorous espionage series focuses on a team of agents in the British secret service who were discarded by MI5. From now on it works in a special department – the so-called Slough House. Oldman plays the aging leader of the losers squad with Jackson Lamb.
