Electric vehicle: Bolloré plans to build a battery “gigafactory”

(AOF) – Vincent Bolloré plans to build a giant battery factory via its e-mobility subsidiary Blue Solutions: this is what a spokesperson for the group told AFP yesterday, confirming information from “Échos” This new site could see the light of day at “a logistics crossroads between France and Germany” by 2030, “if the conditions are met”. The “gigafactory” will produce so-called “solid” batteries, more autonomous than lithium-ion, and recharging more quickly, which would allow the opening of the electric vehicle market to the general public.

According to “Les Échos”, this project would represent an investment of some 2.2 billion euros, and could produce the equivalent of 24 gigawatt hours of batteries per year by 2040, or almost two production lines of the factory battery of ACC (joint venture between Stellantis, Mercedes and TotalEnergies).
