Breaking up of Real: A total of 47 locations have already been closed
A total of 47 Real stores in Germany have been closed so far. According to information from the LZ, twelve of these will go to a new operator after conversion and modernization. According to the current status, Tischendorf will continue to operate the remaining 54 Real locations under the usual flag from July 1st.
There are still uncertainties about the delivery of the remaining Real markets. Rewe and the merger of several RTG members are currently the hottest contenders.
Edeka recently announced the takeover of three additional locations in Hagen, Nuremberg and Wuppertal. According to the current status, the supermarket chain is already taking over 33 stores that have either already been integrated or will expand the Edeka network in the coming months. Competitor Kaufland has taken over 86 stores so far, and Globus has 16 so far.
