Brave Search launches discussions: “more human” answers in its results

To be able to present more relevant and diversified results to its users, Brave announced a new feature, called “Discussions”.

Discussions is a dedicated area in search results that contains results from popular forums.

A dynamic that has not escaped Brave, which has decided to make life easier for these users with its new Discussions feature. In addition to the usual results, Brave Search now offers an additional space that features results from Reddit and the StackExchange. To decide whether discussions might be relevant to answering user queries, Brave’s algorithm considers four criteria:

• The freshness of the subject

• Popularity of the topic on a given forum
• The quality of the conversation (the number of responses but also the number of upvotes)
• The search quality score (which measures how relevant the discussion is to the query)

Discussions are already available and results from other popular forums will be added soon. Also, the company indicates that it will soon allow users to filter and classify the results according to their own criteria, thanks to the ” Brave Search Goggles “.
