From Breaking Bad to Dexter via Peaky Blinders, Gotham or even Better Call Saul, detective series are often very dark and very violent. But what is THE most violent show? Theslotbuzz website conducted a study on the issue!
Verdict? By counting the crimes committed in 15 popular detective series, Theslotbuzz can reveal that Gotham is the most violent series of all, with a total of 1385 murders during the five seasons of the show. That is an average of 14 people killed per episode.
And after ? Dexter is the second most violent series with 920 murders committed in eight seasons, the third step of the podium being occupied by Ozark and its 241 crimes. Breaking Bad and its spin-off Better Call Saul complete the Top 5 with 173 and 98 homicides respectively.
Finally, it should be noted that the English series are “little” violent compared to the American ones, Sherlock and Peaky Blinders pointing to seventh and tenth place in the ranking. And that the most violent character is Eduardo Dorrance, alias Bane, responsible for 336 murders in the Gotham series. That’s almost a quarter of the crimes committed throughout the show!
