Previously, the members of the small chamber in the US Parliament had already held several votes on the admissibility of the package.
Next, the bill goes to the House of Representatives, which is likely to agree to it due to the Democratic majority in the chamber.
“It was a long and hard road that is now behind us,” said Democratic Majority Leader and Senator from New York, Chuck Schumer, on Sunday afternoon in Washington (local time). “This is a historic moment. I am confident that this law will go down in history as one of the defining moments of this Chamber in the 21st century.”
