Bridal fashion 2020: Now no bride can avoid these trends

Flip flops instead of high heels, puff sleeves instead of spaghetti straps – the 2020 bridal fashion trends come up with so many surprises.

Anyone who marries this year not only has to think about the wedding dress, location and decoration, but also the corona logistics. Stars like Michael Wendler (48) and Laura Müller (19) as well as Ottfried Fischer (66) and Simone Brandlmeier could not prevent that from the most beautiful day in life, they said yes in the midst of the Corona crisis. Brides who have not yet committed themselves to style get a little decision-making aid with these fashion trends.

The dress: back to the future

First things first: The dress is probably the most important thing. But what should it be? A princess robe in Ivory? An H-line with a tip? Or rather the dreamy vintage dress with a flower wreath? There was a clear comeback of the 80s at New York's Bridal Fashion Week. On the Theia Bridal show, models with XXL puffy sleeves ran down the catwalk. The designers combined them with off-shoulder silhouettes and gave the outfits with floral patterns a romantic touch that gave the 80s look a new twist.

The so-called co-ords offer a welcome change. The coordinated combi outfits are ideal for brides who are not fans of dresses. The bridal sets usually consist of elegantly cut trousers and a coordinated top in the form of a blouse or blouson, but one or the other jumpsuit was also seen at the New York bridal shows.

The shoe: she now wears bride adilettes

Not every bride likes high heels. How practical that tennis player Serena Williams (38) showed in 2017 for her wedding to Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian (37) that it is much easier. She chose chic treads for her big day and hovered over the dance floor in specially made sneakers with Swarovski crystals.

In 2020, things go one step further in terms of shoes: the bride can step in front of the altar in slippers. The white Adiletten "Lace Pack" got a tuning missed and come in shimmering satin, with golden details and lace. So if the bride has had enough of her chic high heels, she can slip into a comfortable pair of iconic shoes and still look elegant.

The headdress: naturalness is key

It goes from the bottom to the top. 2020 is all about a natural look when it comes to headdresses. Overloaded updos with all kinds of sparkling clips and plugs and traditional hats and fascinators are a thing of the past. Hairbands in any shape are required for this. Flower wreath or flower crown may not necessarily belong to the new trend par excellence. But naturalness never goes out of style. For a wild, romantic look, wreaths of calla, roses or wild flowers are ideal.
