Bridgerton: a filming location for the Netflix series in flames

As a heat wave hits all of Europe, accompanied by numerous fires, a filming set for The Chronicle of the Bridgertons was also affected by the flames.

The Bridgerton Chronicle made a name for itself on Netflix from the first season by raising the temperature, with in particular the burning antics between Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page). But this time, it’s a filming location for the series that literally went up in flames.

Flames rose above the Wrotham Park estate where the historic mansion used for production last Wednesday is located. Fans will recognize this stunning mansion, which served as the backdrop for some of the show’s most memorable scenes, including the famous scene at the Pall Mall game – or mail game, which is the ancestor of croquet – and, of course, the heartbreaking scene of the death of family patriarch Edmund Bridgerton (Rupert Evans).

An Instagram account of fans of the series has also published the impressive photos of the fire:

More than 10 fire crews from Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue and London Fire Brigade were dispatched to contain the blaze. No casualties were reported. Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service Group Commander Keith Harland said in a statement released by Subway : “The emergency response teams worked very hard to successfully contain the fire to prevent it from spreading to the main building, which was our main concern.

Of note, a one-story brick building used as the property’s stable was engulfed in fire, with smoke blackening the facade of the nearby country house. The stately home and other properties near the stables remained intact.

The incident comes just a week after Netflix announced to the public that filming for the third season of its original series was underway. And whereIt’s unclear whether the fire will have impacted filming for the show’s third season, which will follow the love story of Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), also known as name of Lady Whistledown.
