After a positive corona test, the production of the second season of “Bridgerton” was stopped. But only briefly …

Production of the second season of the Netflix series “Bridgerton” has apparently started again after a short break. This is what the US industry portal “Variety” reports. Since Friday (July 16), filming has continued after a one-day break. The reason for the short delay was allegedly a positive corona test by a crew member.

According to “Variety”, the shooting was “stopped immediately” in order to test everyone involved in the series. All health and safety protocols have been followed and those affected have been isolated.

That’s what season two is about

Season two production began in various locations in London in May. The main actress of season one, Phoebe Dynevor, 26, returns for the new episodes, her co-star Regé-Jean Page (31) will no longer be part of the series. Just a few days ago, the first season of “Bridgerton” received twelve Emmy nominations – including in the main category “Best Drama Series”. Regé-Jean Page is also nominated for Best Actor. The first “Bridgerton” season was the most popular show on Netflix to date, with 82 million viewers.

For season one, Bridgerton told the story of Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), the eldest daughter of an influential family, who made her debut on the Regency-era London marriage market. It finally sparks between her and the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page). The new episodes should now primarily deal with the love story of Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey, 33), Daphne’s brother. There will be at least a third and fourth season afterwards.
