She is – almost – invisible on screen, but her name is everywhere and makes London high society tremble. In The Bridgerton Chronicle, the mood posts published by Lady Whistledown are not intended to appease the spirits, quite the contrary. The mysterious feather spreads the worst gossip, reveals many secrets and analyzes large gatherings in search of the smallest detail that could ignite the powder.
In the series, it is the famous actress Julie Andrews – legendary Mary Poppins – who lends her voice to the character, whose face is never shown in front of the camera. At the end of the first season, viewers finally discovered the true identity of Lady Whistledown: Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan).
Nevertheless, a third actress embodies the author of the chronicle. In a video released by Netflix, stars Nicola Coughlan and Claudia Jessie offer a behind-the-scenes tour of the production. The interpreter of Eloise Bridgerton reveals that the hands of Lady Whistledown who write the papers are not those of Nicola Coughlan or Julie Andrews.
