The series "Bridgerton", which only started at the end of December, will definitely be continued. Netflix has now officially announced this.

Fans of the new Netflix hit "Bridgerton" will see more romantic adventures. The series will have a second season, as the streaming giant has now confirmed on Twitter, among others.

Among other things, hot love scenes probably contributed to the success of the first season, which was released on Christmas 2020. Netflix recently revealed to the industry magazine "Variety" that, according to projections, the series will be seen by around 63 million households in the first 28 days of its appearance. This would make "Bridgerton" one of the most successful series starts on the service that has ever existed there.

What's next?

"Bridgerton" tells the story of Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor, 25), the eldest daughter of an influential family, who makes her debut in the Regency-era London marriage market. It sparks between her and the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page, 31). The series was written by Chris Van Dusen and Shonda Rhimes (51, "How to Get Away with Murder").

In addition to Page and Dynevor, Jonathan Bailey (32), Luke Newton (23), Golda Rosheuvel (49), Claudia Jessie (31) and Nicola Coughlan (34) can be seen. Many details about the second season are currently unknown. Apparently Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Bailey) will play a central role according to "Variety" – the rest of the cast will also return. Production is scheduled to start in spring 2021. Further details are not yet available.
