LONDON/SYDNEY (Reuters) – British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called on his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday for a “transparent and rigorous independent investigation” after an Israeli strike in the Gaza Strip killed seven employees of World Central Kitchen (WCK), an NGO that provides meals to people in need.
“He (Rishi Sunak) said he was appalled by the deaths of aid workers, including three British nationals, in a strike yesterday in Gaza and called for an independent, transparent and rigorous investigation to be carried out,” a spokesperson said. -speaker from 10 Downing Street.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also said he spoke with Benjamin Netanyahu, even though an Australian national was killed in the strike.
“I have expressed Australia’s anger and concern over the deaths of aid workers,” Anthony Albanese said at a press conference on Wednesday.
