Britney Spears: After allegations! She apologizes to Justin Timberlake

In her memoir, Britney Spears didn’t exactly portray her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake in a positive light. Now the former pop princess is rowing back and suddenly adopts a conciliatory tone.

In the past few months, Justin Timberlake, 42, has dominated the negative headlines. The musician didn’t do particularly well in the autobiography “The Woman in Me: My Story” by his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears, 42. This makes them all the more surprising with a public apology.

Britney Spears raves about ex Justin Timberlake

On Monday morning, January 29, 2024, the “Overprotected” interpreter shared a video of Timberlake’s appearance on his good friend Jimmy Fallon’s “Tonight Show,” 49, in which he performed his new song “Selfish.” She writes a few benevolent lines about it. “I would like to apologize for some of the things I wrote in my book. If I have offended someone I really care about, I am deeply sorry,” says the 42-year-old remorsefully.

And that’s not all: Britney also praises her ex-boyfriend, with whom she was in a relationship from 1999 to 2002, for his new single. “I also wanted to say that I love Justin Timberlake’s new song ‘Selfish’ so much,” she enthuses, adding, “And how come every time I see Justin and Jimmy together I laugh so hard?”

Britney fans fight against chart placement of Justin Timberlake’s song

The former pop princess is also currently benefiting from the hype surrounding Timberlake’s new song. Die-hard Britney fans are currently increasingly streaming her 2011 hit of the same name in an attempt to push her ex-boyfriend’s latest work off the charts. The song “Selfish” from the deluxe edition of her album “Femme Fatale” entered the top 40 of the US iTunes charts last Thursday – the same day that Timberlake released the first song from his upcoming album “Everything I Thought It Was” was released.

In her memoirs, published in October 2023, Britney Spears made serious allegations against the singer. Due to the hatred he received, Justin Timberlake withdrew from the spotlight for the time being and even briefly deleted his Instagram account. Now he is back with a new album and the announcement of a world tour.
