(Reuters) – Chipmaker Broadcom is close to a deal to sell its end-user computing (EUC) unit to private equity fund KKR for $3.8 billion ($3.50 billion). euros), people familiar with the matter said on Saturday.
According to sources, KKR won the auction against other private equity groups, notably the Swedish EQT.
The transaction could be announced as early as Monday, added the sources, who preferred to remain anonymous due to the confidential nature of the matter.

KKR declined to comment. Broadcom and EQT did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Broadcom, which acquired cloud computing company VMware in November for $69 billion, said in December it would seek to sell its end-user computing unit.
The company is also seeking to get rid of Carbon Black, the division specializing in security software from VMware.
