Bruce Willis: Wife Emma wants paparazzi to keep their distance

“If you’re caring for someone with dementia, you know how difficult and stressful it can be to release someone into the world and navigate them safely.” With these words Emma Heming-Willis begins her appeal. She continues: “Even if you just want to grab a cup of coffee. I’m seeing headlines right now and a video of my husband getting coffee with some friends, [die] did an excellent job of protecting him…”. The entrepreneur – who has daughters Evelyn Penn, 8, and Mabel Ray, 10, with Willis, has to interrupt her post as her emotions get the better of her.

After the entrepreneur regained her composure, she addressed the paparazzi: “This appeal goes out to the photographers and videographers trying to get these ‘exclusive’ pictures of my husband when he’s out: just keep your distance. […] Please don’t yell at my husband and ask him how he’s doing or whatever – the ‘Wooohoo-ing’ and the ‘Yippee Ki Yays’ – just don’t do it, okay? Give him the space. Allow our family or whoever is with him that day to get him safely from A to B.”

Finally, Emma Heming-Willis “reaches out to other caregivers or dementia specialists” and asks them to share “tips or advice” in the comments section to help manage those with dementia.

One year after being diagnosed with aphasia: Willis suffers from a rare form of dementia

On March 30, 2022, Bruce Willis’ family announced on social media that the actor was retiring from Hollywood due to a diagnosis of aphasia “that would affect his cognitive abilities.” Almost a year later, it was announced that the “Die Hard” actor was suffering from the rare form of frontotemporal dementia.

The so-called neurodegenerative disease is caused “by damage” to brain regions that are “very important for our personality, language, movement and consciousness, among other things,” explains neuroscientist Dr. Boris Nikolai Konrad in conversation with the news agency “spot on news”.
