“JI don’t like the France of head-cutters”. In an interview given to Sunday newspaper, Bruno Le Maire responded to the controversial remarks of Marine Tondelier. During a Nupes meeting in Paris on Tuesday January 17, the national secretary of Europe Ecology Les Verts delivered a speech against billionaires in France. “We claim that we no longer want billionaires in France. We want a France without billionaires,” she said. “What good is a billionaire? “, she asked, before rebelling against Bernard Arnault, who asked for Belgian nationality “in order not to pay inheritance rights”.
Marine Tondelier’s statements caused a lot of reaction, in particular the Minister of the Economy who expressed his mistrust. “I don’t like the France of head cutters. I distrust parties that excommunicate: they quickly turn into sects. I prefer those who bring people together, who discuss, who make room for everyone: this is my vision of France, ”said Bruno Le Maire in the columns of the JDD.READ ALSOHappy as a billionaire in Europe!
“Tens of thousands of jobs on our territory”
“The entrepreneurs targeted by Europe Écologie-Les Verts have created tens of thousands of jobs on our territory, supported medium-sized towns, restored activity in these towns which need it”, added the Minister. “They make the name of France and French culture shine all over the planet”. Bruno Le Maire had already used this argument a few days earlier, in reaction to a letter co-signed by 200 millionaires. The latter asked to be taxed more. The minister replied ironically: “Come to France, we will know how to tax you”.
