Bruno Hourcade is the game show candidate to have racked up the most victories in the world. A record marked by exactly 252 participations in the show The 12 strokes of noon, with a prize pool of 1,026,000 euros in winnings, including 700,000 in capital. At the age of 30, his life has radically changed. As he confided in September 2023 in the columns of Current wife, Bruno was able to make thoughtful investments which now ensure him a life very different from the one that awaited him before his participation in the TF1 game. “The financial contribution from the show gave me the luxury of being able to choose my professional life, when and if I wanted to work. This is already a huge luxury compared to 99% of the population who has absolutely no choice.”
And when he passed the million mark against Jean-Luc Reichmann, Bruno Hourcade remembers that again his reaction was nothing exuberant. And for good reason, the young man was launched into the game without really realizing what was happening to him: “The show where I won the million, I didn’t have the impression of becoming a millionaire, because in the end I won 5,000 euros. It’s not like winning the lottery. My logic was more of a working logic. Psychologically, it was much easier to live with, TF1 sent me a check every month that I would put in the bank.”, he remembers.

Moreover, he had implemented a reflex from the start of his journey in order to keep his feet on the ground. Guest of the show Seven to EightSunday April 14, 2024, he spoke about this. “As the shows go on, you see the winnings add up and you always convert it into months of salary”notes Audrey Crespo-Mara. “Exactly! In fact, the first show I filmed, I won 15,000 euros and the second show, straight after, I won 15,000 euros. In an hour and a half of filming, I earned 30,000 euros net of taxes. At the time, I tell myself that it’s great but I don’t quite realize it. I take my calculator and divide by my current salary. I tell myself that I just earned X months’ salary in an hour and a half of filming and that allows me to keep my feet on the ground.”. If Bruno wanted to stay connected to reality, it is because he knows that his parents “have never won this in their entire life” as farmers.
