PARIS (Reuters) – The European Commission approved on Friday five billion euros in state aid granted by France to energy-intensive companies to support them in the face of soaring prices linked to the war led by Russia in Ukraine.
This measure, which will take the form of direct subsidies for additional energy costs, was authorized as part of the temporary relaxation of the rules on State aid due to the “serious disturbance” of the European economy resulting from the conflict in Ukraine.
