“A remote, anonymous attacker can exploit several vulnerabilities in Microsoft Edge to increase privileges, execute malicious code, cause an application to crash, or other effects. Exploitation is as simple as loading a maliciously crafted webpage or linking to such a page to click,” explains the BSI. You should import the security update to version 99.0.1150.46 provided by the manufacturer immediately because of the high potential for damage. According to Microsoft, there is currently no evidence that cybercriminals are already exploiting the security leaks for attacks. Update Edge: How it works
To initiate the Edge update, proceed as follows:
- Open the Edge browser.
- Click on the three dots at the top right.
- click on help and feedback and then up About Microsoft Edge.
- Edge will then check for updates. If one is available, the software updates itself automatically.
- If necessary, click the button Start anewto end the process.
