Wall Street: Wall Street uncertain at the opening, investors digest the latest data

PARIS (Reuters) – The New York Stock Exchange opened mixed on Friday, reassured about the prospects of the technology giants but digesting the latest inflation indicators in the United States.

In early trading, the Dow Jones index was unchanged at 38,078.54 points and the broader Standard & Poor’s 500 rose 0.59% to 5,078.34 points.

The Nasdaq Composite takes 1.19% or 186.02 points, to 15,797.781.

Investors welcome the good performance of Alphabet and Microsoft, whose figures surprised on the upside.

PCE inflation indicators released on Friday were in line with market expectations and were almost unchanged from February.

The resistance of inflation to rate increases raises fears that the Federal Reserve will not lower its rates as quickly as expected.

In terms of values, Microsoft advances by 3.3% after the publication of its results on Thursday.

Alphabet soars by 11.6%, the group having announced that it would pay its first dividend.
