US stunt specialist Wayne “Buddy” Van Horn has died. He became known as the stunt double of Hollywood star Clint Eastwood.

Wayne “Buddy” Van Horn (1929-2021) died on May 11th at the age of 92, as if from one Obituary in the Los Angeles Times emerges. “Buddy has worked as a professional rider, stunt performer, actor, stunt coordinator and film director throughout his 60-plus year career in television, film and on stage. He was a founding member of the Stuntmen’s Association, where he made lifelong friends,” it says the display.

Long and close collaboration with Clint Eastwood

According to obituary, the 1960s brought him more stunt double roles with US stars such as Gregory Peck (1916-2003), Jimmy Stewart (1908-1997) and Lee Marvin (1924-1987). In 1967 the successful collaboration with US star Clint Eastwood (91) began as his stunt double. Over the next 44 years, the two worked on more than 30 films, including “Mystic River” (2003), “Million Dollar Baby” (2004) and “Gran Torino” (2008), with Buddy Van Horn as stunt coordinator was active.

Buddy Van Horn leaves behind his wife Konne, the two daughters Erika and Jennifer and the five grandchildren Morgan, Cade, Hayden, Cole and Landon. A private family celebration was held at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills Cemetery, according to an obituary notice.
