Bulgaria-The right in the lead after the anticipated legislative elections

SOFIA, Oct 2 (Reuters) – Former Prime Minister Boyko Borissov’s right-wing Citizens for European Development Bulgaria (GERB) came out on top in early parliamentary elections on Sunday, exit polls show.

According to figures from Gallup International and Alpha Research, the GERB would obtain between 23.6% and 25.5%.

His main opponent, the reformists of “We continue the change”, outgoing Prime Minister Kiril Petrov, would come in second place with between 19.5% and 19.9%.

If these results are confirmed, they would augur difficult discussions to form a government and could lead to a political stalemate which could lead to new elections when four polls have already been organized in the space of two years. (Tsvetelia Tsolova; French version Nicolas Delame)
