Bullfrog and Lionhead veteran, art director Paul McLaughlin has died

Paul McLaughlin was a stalwart of Peter Molyneux, whom he met back in his days of Bullfrog in 1990. The Guildford artist worked for over 30 years in the video game industry and contributed to games like Fable, Black&White, The Movies, Populous 2, Theme Park, Syndicate, power monger, Magic Carpet and Dungeon Keeper. Suffice to say a career that can boast of having created a bundle of memories. Even before joining Bullfrog, the man who leaves behind a wife and three children had made his debut in 1988 at Emerald Software, an Irish studio that defunct in 1991, where he worked on Amiga games. Treasure Trap and Phantom Fighter. His career finally ended at 22cans, the studio founded by Peter Molyneux in 2012.

Eurogamer has garnered many tributes from colleagues and former colleagues praising the professionalism, kindness, humility and humor of the deceased. Among them are obviously Peter Molyneux but also names like those of Mark Healey and Kareem Ettouney, co-founders of Media Molecule, who entered the industry thanks to Paul McLaughlin, at Bullfrog for one and Lionhead for the other.
