Bulls column – Why the tractors are pulling out at Master Salzburg

Tractor meeting at Meister Salzburg? The “Afterplay Time” column by “Salzburg Krone” editor Christoph Nister reveals what this is all about and which coach demonstrated his class during training during the international break.

A few weeks ago the tractors drove into the bull training center in Taxham (see picture at the top). An entire field has now been “plowed up” and looks more like arable land than green. What it’s all about? The “Krone” asked the champions. “The high quality of the training pitches is just as important as that of the pitch in the Red Bull Arena,” replied sports director Bernhard Seonbuchner. “While the games in the stadium basically only take place irregularly, the boys are in Taxham is on the pitch almost every day. That’s why we attach great importance to good space conditions.” The turf on second place was removed and it was also ensured that the water could drain away better. “A new lawn will then be sown, which will take about ten weeks.” Training is currently taking place on their pitches. While ten players are traveling with their national teams and Andreas Ulmer is furthering his coaching training, the remaining squad of Liefering players is being strengthened. Assistant coach Alex Hauser, who is one of 13 participants in the new UEFA Pro License course, also regularly gets involved and proves that he is still in top shape. During a training exercise he caused a stir with a spectacular side kick goal. When Sekou Koita tried to emulate him and failed, the Tyrolean showed a sense of humor. “I know, it looks so easy to me,” he told the Malian with a grin.
