PlayStation fans are desperate. The PS5 is out of print everywhere, Sony still can’t meet the demand and things won’t get much better in 2022 for the time being.
If you don’t have a console yet, you will surely use every opportunity that presents itself; whether it’s a competition or a walk to the nearest supermarket.
Perhaps you have already asked yourself whether you can get a new console from Aldi, Lidl or Real.

You are right to ask yourself that, because supermarkets have also been offering entertainment electronics for many years. As far as the PS5 is concerned, however, it looks a bit bleak. Neither in the online shops nor in branches of Aldi or Lidl can we discover PS5 consoles.

At Real, on the other hand, there is at least some hope. At the end of 2021, pre-orders in branches were possible, according to news on Twitter. The quotas were certainly very limited, but it is a sign that you should keep an eye on supermarkets.
The chances are likely to increase online
Especially since they occasionally offer PS5 games and accessories for the new console from Sony in their online shops – such as Lidl. With a little luck, there will be a contingent of consoles in the range in the future. This is supported by the fact that the PS4 was already available to buy from Aldi and Lidl, and Lidl keeps on offering the new Microsoft Xbox Series S console.

Buying a PS5 in the supermarket is possible, but currently seems more difficult than ordering online and that might mean something – after all, many fans do not succeed either because the rush is so huge. But if more consoles are in circulation in the future, you should watch the online shops of the supermarkets more and more frequently.
At the moment we advise you to try your luck online. When you sell Media Markt and Saturn, you have slightly better chances than with some other retailers, where the allotments are sold out after a few seconds. Alternatively, you can visit branches of Media Markt, Conrad, Expert or GameStop and ask if you can pre-order.
