Buy PS5: Available in a bundle at Media Markt, but there is a catch

• Media Markt Schweiz currently offers the console. Media Markt / Saturn in Germany and Austria, however, do not.
• The console is available from E-wie-simply with a contract.

Anyone who wants to buy a PS5 from Media Markt in Switzerland now has the opportunity. The electronics retailer chain is currently offering the console in disk and digital versions in a bundle with SSD storage.

The offer is only available to customers from Switzerland – neither the German nor the Austrian online shop currently offers the console. An order from Germany is also not possible. We have already checked that in the editorial office.

So our Swiss readers can look forward to it and order the console. Delivery will only take place from December 27th and can take up to 7 working days.

New pre-order campaign in the markets

You probably have better chances in the branches. As reported by several fans on Twitter, Saturn and Media Markt are accepting pre-orders for the consoles. You have to pay a deposit of 100 euros and can pick up the console on January 10th. Pre-orders should be possible until December 24th.

However, depending on the market, only a few copies are available. On Twitter, users report that only 14 to 35 pieces are available per market. In addition, different bundles are offered in the stores. In many places the disk version is available for 499 euros, in other places the console is sometimes sold with an additional guarantee for 549 euros.

There are also bundles with a second controller or game for around 650 euros. You have to inquire on site whether your branch can offer these bundles for pre-order. Important: You need to show your identity card to pre-order.

Both dealers had already offered similar promotions in October and November. However, it was not possible to determine how high the numbers of units were for these campaigns. According to reports on the network, it should only be about small numbers.

Buy a PS5 with a contract

With electricity provider E for Easy you can currently get the PS5 in connection with a new contract as a bonus. In addition to the console, the package includes a second controller and a 24-month PlayStation Plus membership. However, the dispatch should only take place in January.

Consumer advice center is suing Saturn

Especially in the pre-order phase, there was some trouble between customers and Saturn. The dealer had received a warning from the consumer center Saxony due to “ineffective terms and conditions, misleading business dealings and practices contrary to consumer protection”.

The consumer association has a case in which a customer had pre-ordered a console but did not receive an immediate order confirmation. However, this is required by law for online trading. Instead of the confirmation there was only a request for payment.

In addition, it is not transparent how long the customer’s money will be withheld if, for example, there is a repayment in the event of non-delivery.

The dealers had confirmed that the cease and desist declaration was available. He apparently did not comply with this. In the meantime, consumer protection in Saxony has therefore filed a lawsuit against Saturn.

Choose your PS5 model

Before buying, you should have decided on either the PS5 or the PS5 Digital Edition. There is no time for big considerations until allotments are available again.
