Buying a new bra: 5 signs that speak for it

3 signs you need a new bra (urgently!).

There are two things that apply to bras, and bras only. Firstly, we wash them far too seldom. Secondly, we buy them far too rarely. If you now take a look in your own linen drawer, you are guaranteed to find that there are still some relics from the past stored here. We tell you it’s time to bury her.

The bra is too loose

Most bras have three silver eyelets that you can use to fasten them. What most people don’t know is that you should always wear a new bra on the last or widest step. If the product comes fresh from the shop, the fabric should still have the perfect elasticity. The longer we wear the bra, the more it stretches out and we have to “tighten” the band. Of course, this is only possible to a certain extent. So if the bra slides back and forth, the straps keep falling off and are no longer under tension, that’s our sign. It’s time for something new!

The temples are visible

Even though non-wired bras are all the rage, women with larger bust sizes in particular prefer to wear wired bras. And they are guaranteed to know the feeling when the silver bracket digs out of the fabric and pricks the chest uncomfortably. You kind of put up with it, think that you have to sort out this bra anyway and then put it back in the drawer after washing. A vicious circle that needs to be broken. It’s best to take off immediately and wear another. Provided this bra is in better condition.

The bra loses its shape

The more we wash a bra, the more likely it loses its shape and elasticity. This is often a problem, especially with non-wired bras. And no, that’s no reason to wash your bras even less often than you already do. As with all clothing, the shape can distort during the wash cycle. This makes it all the more important to use a laundry net to protect the bra. Incidentally, this also protects other items of clothing from small holes, because otherwise the barbs on the fastener would get caught on T-shirts or tights. If the washing machine is very full, this can cause the bra to become very squashed, which can also cause a loss of shape.

If at least one of these three points applies to one of your bras, then you have the answer. It’s time to buy a new one…
