C31: Realme unveils (again) an entry-level smartphone that relies on autonomy

If you find that the newly launched C35 is still too expensive despite its entry price below €200, Realme has thought of you. With its C31, the Chinese company offers a smartphone below €160, even starting at €119. What make it one of the most affordable on the market.

Focus on independence above all else

With its C35, Realme boasts the capabilities of its main 50-megapixel sensor, its design also being reminiscent of some more expensive models from the competition. Not so with the C31 since its main module is 13 Mpx and it does not have an ultra wide-angle. The real strength of the C31, according to Realme, is in its battery. The 5000 mAh accumulator has something to offer him “45 days standby”, assuming that the user is the type to let the smartphone sleep in a drawer. With its Unisoc T612 processor, it’s a safe bet that the C31 will prove to be very durable. It is also coupled with 3 or 4 GB of RAM depending on the version chosen. For storage, count between 32 and 64 GB only, but the purchaser can bring a microSD card to increase this storage.

At this price, the C31 is based on an LCD panel with a diagonal of 6.5 inches with a notch in the shape of a drop of water and a rather imposing chin. No refresh rate higher than 60 Hz, Realme gives in efficiency. In terms of design, the terminal borrows the aesthetics of the photo island of its sidekick C35, but its edges are rounded instead of being flat. It is also a little thicker (8.4 mm), its fingerprint reader is placed on the edge and it has a 3.5 mm mini-jack.

The Realme C31 is already on sale on the brand’s French site. It is displayed from €140 in the 3/32 GB configuration. The 4/64 GB version is offered at €160. However, don’t rush on it since from April 11, 2022, Realme is launching a promotional offer with a €20 discount on its model. So the Realme C31 will start at €120. In addition to its own platform, third-party sellers Carrefour, Auchan and Cdiscount will be added.
