The prevailing calm on the Paris Stock Exchange ultimately did not prevent the CAC 40 from setting new records this Wednesday. And successfully. The Parisian index closed up 0.25% at 8,204.81 points, which was enough to bring down its previous mark of March 19 at 8,201.05 points.

A little earlier in the afternoon, the CAC 40 had already reached an absolute peak at 8,230.38 points, erasing by a short head its previous record of March 21 at 8,229.25 points. This rise, however, took place in a vacuum, in the absence of many operators with the upcoming Easter festivities in perspective.

The CAC 40 is not the only one to be familiar with the stock market skies this Wednesday. In Europe, the German Dax reached an absolute record at 18,511.17 points in the afternoon, just like the Eurostoxx 50 index, encompassing the 50 largest capitalizations in the euro zone, which hit an unprecedented peak at 5,095. .11 points.

The market is in a waiting position before the PCE index, the Fed’s preferred inflation indicator, which will be released Friday afternoon. The Reuters consensus, for its part, expects a slight acceleration of the PCE index in February to 0.4% from one month to the next and to 2.5% on an annual basis.

Animation among small and mid-caps

On the value side, a few are lively, particularly in small and medium values ​​including Micropole which gained another 10.9%, to 1.675 euros. This is above the price of 1.50 euros proposed by Miramar, the investment company of entrepreneur Sébastien Lombardo as part of its proposed public purchase offer launched Tuesday on the digital services company of midsized.

Or on even smaller values, with the soil specialist Florentaise (+45.5%) which is soaring after obtaining marketing authorization for Flormix, a biostimulant for plant growth.

On other markets, the euro is down slightly against the dollar at 1.0823 dollars. Oil is giving up a little ground, after an unexpected sharp rise in weekly crude stocks in the United States. The May contract on Brent from the North Sea fell by 0.4% to 85.31 dollars per barrel, while that of the same maturity on WTI listed in New York also lost 0.4% to 81.29 dollars per barrel. barrel.
