CAC40: expected to decline significantly after LVMH

(CercleFinance.com) – The Paris Stock Exchange should open sharply lower this Wednesday, given futures on the CAC40 down around 0.8%, the day after the start of the third quarter publication season , given after closing by LVMH.

The world number one in luxury – and heavyweight of the Parisian market – unveiled on Tuesday evening a turnover of 62.2 billion euros for the first nine months of 2023, an increase of 10% in published data and 14% organic.

All of its activities showed sustained organic growth over the period with the exception of wines and spirits. In an uncertain economic and geopolitical context, LVMH said it was ‘confident in its continued growth’.

This point of activity, however, highlights organic growth of only 9% over the third quarter, going in the direction of a ‘reminder of the sector’s normalized growth rates’, as UBS expected last week.

In addition to this publication, operators will be able to react this Wednesday to American producer prices. To be released early this afternoon, they will be able to give a first indication of the inflation trend in the United States on the eve of consumer prices.
