Forget After, Against the Sense and Through My Window, this new series available for streaming knocks them out

Looking for a romantic series about a complex and sensual love story? Discover “Maxton Hall” on Prime Video and fall under the spell of the couple Ruby and James.

Notice to romance fans young adults, a new rose-tinted series is arriving today on Prime Video. If you like complicated love stories, adapted from novels, with a charismatic cast and sensual scenes, like in the franchises After, Against the Grain, Through My Window, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and others , then this new fiction is made for you!

Fall under the spell of Ruby and James

It is once again a series of successful novels which is the subject of a live action adaptation and this new romance does not come from the United States or Spain, customary to this type of literature transcribed on the great and the small screen.

Germany is taking this film and series market by storm and it’s a success! Discover the love story between Ruby and James in the series Maxton Hall: The World Between Us, adapted from the literary series Maxton Hall by Mona Kasten, composed of three novels “Save Me”, “Save You”, “Save Us”.

The first season of the German series, created by Daphne Ferraro and composed of 6 episodes, adapts the first volume of the literary saga and immerses us in the world of Maxton Hall, a prestigious private high school in which Ruby Bell (Harriet Herbig-Matten ) evolves discreetly.

This scholarship student doesn’t care about money, parties and power because her only goal is to get into Oxford University. But when she accidentally discovers a secret that could tarnish the reputation of the Beaufort family, the young woman sees her life turned upside down.

Son James Beaufort (Damian Hardung, seen in the series How To Sell Drugs Online (Fast) on Netflix), popular, arrogant and rich, is determined to silence Ruby. Their passionate exchange of words unexpectedly ignites a spark.

Better than “After” and company

Everything becomes complicated in the mind and heart of Ruby, who is turned upside down by James, himself troubled by his attraction to her. They come from different worlds. And yet, they are made for each other.

This modern love story between the classes of a prestigious private school takes up all the codes of romantic novels of the same style with two charismatic, brilliant and impertinent main characters, a pop soundtrack, a stylized setting and many twists and turns.

Maxton Hall is also worth its sumptuous settings and dreamlike landscapes; filming took place between Berlin, London, Oxford and around Marienburg Castle, near Hamburg.

If the Maxton Hall series fits into a very specific genre, it stands out by having chosen the serial format rather than a series of films and this is a positive point unlike other weak and less worked adaptations like After, Against the grain or Through my window.

We become attached and identify much more with the characters, who take the time to be developed, and with their romance with several episodes than with a single first film. More charming than the other films mentioned, Maxton Hall is similar in atmosphere and writing to fictions like SKAM, one of the gems from Norway which left its mark on an entire generation of adolescents.

The series “Maxton Hall: The World That Between Us” is available on Prime Video.
