CAC40: retreats towards 7300pts, deterioration of the bond


(CercleFinance.com) – The Paris stock market ended the session with a decline of 1%, to 7,314 points, notably penalized by the declines of Vinci (-4%), Air Liquide (-3.8%) and Worldline (- 2.6%), while Wall Street was closed today due to the day of commemoration of the end of slavery.

In the economic chapter, the publication – on Friday – of the PMI indices in Europe and the United States will be the big event expected on the world markets this week.

These indicators should confirm the very wide disparity that currently exists between the dynamism of the service sector and the weakness of the manufacturing industry.

At the bond level, Friday’s gains are erased with a rebound of +6Pts in yields: the 10-year German Bund tends to 2.524%, that of the OAT towards 3.037% and the Italian BTP shows up to +10pts to 4.14%, in view of upcoming rate hikes from the ECB.

On the foreign exchange market, the greenback is recovering by +0.4% with the euro at 1.0924 dollars, traders now seem to be betting on an economic slowdown across the Atlantic.

In the news of French companies, on the occasion of the Paris Air Show, the Indian airline IndiGo placed a firm order with Airbus for 500 A320 family aircraft, thus setting the record for the largest single purchase contract for the history of commercial aviation.

TotalEnergies says it will be able to produce half a million tonnes of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) by 2028, in response to the gradual increase in European mandates for the aviation sector.

Thales announces the order by the Indonesian group PT Len Industri of 13 Ground Master (GM) 400 Alpha long-range surveillance radars, with the associated SkyView command and control system.

Finally, Stellantis announced on Monday that its partnership with the American Archer, a manufacturer of electric aircraft intended for the urban environment, had entered the execution phase.
