CAF pays the inflation bonus to 3 million RSA, AAH and student beneficiaries

More than 3 million inactive beneficiaries of aid paid by CAF will receive from this Thursday the 100 euros of inflation compensation. No action is necessary for this automatic payment, reminds the CAF.

306 million euros, for 3 million beneficiaries, or very exactly 3057 thousand people: the CAF announced this Thursday, January 20 in the morning to launch the payment of the inflation bonus, according to the schedule announced by the government. In detail, the inactive people who must receive in the coming days the exceptional aid decided by the government are:

  • 1.6 million beneficiaries of Active Solidarity Income (RSA);
  • 818,000 people under the Adult Disability Allowance (AAH);
  • 556,000 non-scholarship students who receive housing assistance (APL);
  • 60,000 people under the full-rate shared childcare benefit (PreParE), ie parents on full-time parental leave;
  • 7,000 people under the Solidarity Income towards the Overseas Territories.

In its press release, the National Family Allowance Fund (Cnaf) recalls that the transfer is automatic, without any initial process on the part of the beneficiaries. And the inflation allowance is a tax-deferred aid: the beneficiaries do not have to declare it in their declaration of resources to their Caf and will therefore have no impact on the amount of other aid paid.

Next steps: unemployed and retired

The payment of the inflation bonus of 100 euros to 38 million French people earning less than 2000 euros net per month has been in progress since mid-December. Private sector employees and self-employed workers have in theory already received this exceptional compensation. Next major step, after CAF: Ple Emploi from January 25, then withdrawals in February, according to the schedule announced by the government.

The CAF slips an important reminder into its press release: Attention, if the recipients carry out an activity in parallel, or are in another situation (employee, withdrawal, scholarship student, self-employed worker), the inflation indemnity is paid by the employer or other organization.
