Touching confidences. This Friday, March 15, to promote his new album of duets, entitled 20 years of perfect love, the singer Cali spoke in the pages of Closer. During the exchange, the 55-year-old singer-songwriter returned as rarely to his relationship with Caroline, and more precisely to their meeting. The interpreter of Perfect Love then remembered that he had gone to a nightclub in Pau, after having done a concert with his former group, Tom Scarlett. “The waiter was Caroline’s great friend. As a student, she lived right next door and used to come and say hello to her friend before closing time”, he said, specifying that his future partner had fallen in love at first sight.
“She opens the door, she goes in, sees me, comes out and starts to cry. She told me about it afterwards. She said to herself: ‘He’s the man of my life, he will be the father of my children.’ Total love at first sight.” A strong feeling, which was shared by the young singer “But I can say that love at first sight was mutual, the beginning of a crazy love between us,” he continued, before concluding with tenderness: “And I couldn’t see anyone else being the mother of my children. That’s still true today.”
Cali cash on his family life: “It’s a tug every day”
During the exchange with Closer, Cali confided in other very personal subjects, including his family life. The singer notably assured that it was not always easy to bear the distance from his loved ones when he is on tour. “It’s a tug of war every day: you’re happy to be able to make a living from your passion. And happy to come home, because you’ll find your family again,” did he declare. Fortunately, Cali can count on the support of his partner and mother of his children, with whom he has been in perfect love for more than ten years.
