This is not very surprising, given the rotation of the studios in charge of the development of the license call of duty. After Treyarch (Black Ops Cold War) in 2020 and Sledgehammer for Vanguard in 2021, it’s no big surprise that Call of Duty 2022 is in the hands of Infinity Ward, three years after the excellent Modern Warfare. It is also this opus which had, in part, reconciled fans of the franchise with the FPS, after a few years of distraction and negative reviews. Since then, Activision has adopted a regular rhythm of updates, all of which offer important and free content, with the aim of sustaining players over the year.

Naturally, we will have to take our troubles patiently to find out more about this new episode, which could however be formalized in the middle of summer, as was the case in 2019 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. An October release would also be favored by Activision, but that’s all unofficial. What is certain, is that it is an ambitious project (says the words of Activision), although we are entitled to these words every year or so.
Infinity Ward’s tweet might give us a hint though, asking us to ” stay frosty “. Response within a few months, once the formalization of Call of Duty 2022 has been made. Note that Infinity Ward will also be at the head of the novelties for Warzone, the battle royale.
