Franchise still as popular, despite the weight of the years, Call of Duty is preparing for a new opus, on consoles and PC.

Unless very unlikely last minute postponement, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 will be marketed on November 10 and its publisher – Activision which has recently fallen into the hands of Microsoft – is taking stock.

A point which, for once, focuses on the PC version of the action game. The opportunity to see the recommended configurations in more detail while players complain about the gluttony of recent titles.

Not far from 150 GB of disk space

First observation, we will still need to have a nice storage space to accommodate the latest addition to the Beenox studios. Indeed, no matter what level of graphic detail you want, it’s always a matter of having at least 149 GB and on an SSD please.

Note, however, that to simply discover the game’s multiplayer mode, 79 GB is sufficient and even only 38 GB if CoD HQ is already installed. In the same way, to play multi/solo duo, but if CoD HQ And Warzone are already installed, only 78 GB is required.

Activision and Beenox point out in passing that content that becomes useless after completing the single player can be easily uninstalled to only access the multiplayer mode and CoD HQ.

Far from being the most demanding

For the rest, it is on the contrary interesting to note that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 appears relatively sober. From “minimal” configuration to “competitive/4K ultra”, it’s almost reasonable.

Details of the configurations required according to Beenox © Activision

Minimum requirements

  • Operating system : Windows 10 64-bit (updated)
  • Processor : Intel Core i5-6600 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • Cache for high definition content: up to 32 GB
  • Graphic card : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960/GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon RX 470
  • Video memory: 2 GB
  • Storage : SSD, 149 GB available (78 GB if CoD HQ And Warzone already installed)

Recommended configuration

  • Operating system : Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11 64-bit (updated)
  • Processor : Intel Core i7-6700K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • Cache for high definition content: up to 32 GB
  • Graphic card : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti / RTX 3060 or AMD Radeon RX 6600XT
  • Video memory: 8 GB
  • Storage : SSD, 149 GB available (78 GB if CoD HQ And Warzone already installed)

Competitive/4K Ultra configuration

  • Operating system : Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11 64-bit (updated)
  • Processor : Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • Cache for high definition content: up to 64 GB
  • Graphic card : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 / RTX 4070 or AMD Radeon RX 6800XT
  • Video memory: 10 GB
  • Storage : SSD, 149 GB available (78 GB if CoD HQ And Warzone already installed)

Note also that Activision and Beenox mention recommended graphics drivers (537.58 at NVIDIA, 23.10.2 at AMD), but above all that Intel graphics cards are completely neglected just as AMD’s FSR is not mentioned while the DLSS 3 from NVIDIA is on the menu.

PC master race ? Necessarily…

To perfect things, Activision and Beenox of course do not fail to detail the “release program” with a nice map to clarify the launch times… knowing that the preloading of the game will begin exactly 48 hours before.

And since a big release would be nothing without its pre-orders, Activision has planned a whole bunch of “rewards” for its most loyal customers: early access to the campaign, Zombie operator appearance for Ghost, Reaper tracer weapon blueprint souls, Sworn Enemies operator pack, 2 weapon chests, BlackCell (season 1) + 30 additional level passes.

Finally, all this would not be complete without, after the 9 minutes of gameplay already revealed, a proper trailer to salute the excellence of the PC version of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3which promises to be the most successful.
