Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, the billion dollars in 10 days, it’s done

After a complicated year following the disappointing Call of Duty: Vanguard, Activision get back on track with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare IIthe latest opus developed by Infinity Ward. The publisher announced that the title had generated more than 800 million dollars in revenue in three days, but the billion has already been crossed.

Activision announces that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II amassed over $1 billion in revenue in 10 days, a record for the franchise. Before this opus, it was Call of Duty: Black Ops II which had hit $1 billion in 12 days, compared to two weeks for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (which had the record of 775 billion in three days before MWII).

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is a real juggernaut, Activision take this opportunity to announce that players have already accumulated more than 200 million hours of play and launched more than a billion matches on PC, playstation and Xbox. Bobby Kotick, CEO ofActivision-Blizzardadds:
