Call of Duty Warzone 2.0: What are Strongholds?

Whereas Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 will be available in free-to-play from November 16th. and this on the PlayStation, Xbox and PC consoles, it is time for us to come back to a very particular point of this new Battle Royale, the famous Strongholds, these random zones which will close first-rate equipment.

Everything you need to know about Strongholds in Warzone 2.0

During Call of Duty Next on September 15, we discovered Warzone 2.0 and all its new features. We know that the action will take place on the Al Mazrah map, and we will also have the right to a brand new gulag in XXL format, but these are not the only exclusives.

During the showcase, the developers also lifted the veil on the Strongholds, these somewhat special areas that will pop up randomly during the games through Al Mazrah. We won’t be beating around the bush for long, but it’s no more and no less than areas qualified as true fortresses. These will be well guarded since AI patrols will be nearby of the latter, in order to ensure that no one manages to get in, and the players who want to rub shoulders with them will have to be well prepared. Indeed, in addition to the AIs that will be able to adapt to all types of attacks, whether countering tactical or strategic attacks, the strongholds will also have huge locked doors.

However, when a team manages to take control of one of these fortresses, the rewards will be commensurate with the efforts made since there will be high level equipment (legendary).

Ultimate experience through Warzone 2.0

As a reminder, Warzone 2.0 will appear two weeks after the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and will be playable completely for free. In addition to the new features mentioned above such as the new map, the strongholds or the gulag, there will not be one but 3 safe zones which will end up joining in a single and unique zone which will then be the final zone. Besides, the armory will be the same as the one present in Modern Warfare 2, which means that MW2 players will have exactly the same weapons as Warzone 2.0 players.

Finally, the DMZ mode will make its appearance through the Battle Royaleand will therefore be playable completely for free since it will be integrated into Warzone 2.0 and not Modern Warfare 2. Here we will have the chance to experiment with tactical extractions.

While we were able to discover the first images of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 during the Call of Duty Next showcase which took place on September 15, something jumped out at players, the loot system. This is already pointed out.
