Call of Duty Warzone 2: Players are already hooked on this new feature!

Since the release of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, we’ve seen a number of clips popping up on the web highlighting one of Infinity Ward’s new Battle Royale features: the nearby cat.

Good or bad idea, it seems despite the few grumps that this new addition makes players smile. Better, it even brings a new style of approach in the gameplay.

The proximity chat in Warzone 2.0, the idea of the century?

First of all, no Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 isn’t the world’s first game to feature a proximity chat system. We have indeed several titles that offer it such as Among Us, Phasmophobia, or even PUBG but only on PC and not on consoles. Also, for those who don’t know what the nearby cat, it is a system allowing to communicate by voice with the players located not far from us in-game. As you can imagine, this sometimes adds a bit of pressure!

In the case of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, the people we hear not far from us do not wish us well, quite the contrary. Those we hear in-game, apart from our allies of course, are quite simply our enemies.. This way we can learn their position if they talk too much, and also know their plans.

Players fans of this feature, but the excesses?

When we look at the general opinion on social networks vis-à-vis the proximity chat functionality, the majority of players are won over by the latter, and we have also been able to witness some pretty funny scenes you have to admit it.

Between those who make deals with enemies so as not to be killed, others who frighten their opponents by screaming, those who scream in fear or even those who engage in provocation (non-violent of course), there is something laugh.

Nevertheless, a serious question will necessarily arise: what if proximity chat does not make players even more toxic than they are? Well at the time of this writing, it looks like it’s all going for the MOMENT in benevolence, but there will be a time when unfortunately some players will end up degenerating, at least on the side of those who are already toxic .

If this is the case and if this happens to you, you always have the option of disabling this option.

While Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 made its appearance on the evening of November 16, the latter was accompanied by its classic BR, DMZ, but also a brand new mode that promises hectic games: Unhinged!
