In October 2021, the developers of Infinity Ward, Raven Software and the publisher Activision implemented their anti-cheat system, called RICOCHET, on Call of Duty: Warzone. Intended to limit the number of cheaters on the official servers of their battle royale, RICOCHET banned approximately 48,000 accounts at the end of 2021. A figure that must have increased since then. Recently, the game’s anti-cheat system has welcomed a new feature that makes honest players almost invincible.
A few days ago, the developers shared new information regarding RICOCHET on the official Call of Duty website. The system now has a brand new feature, called Damage Shield.. The description is as follows: When the server detects that a cheater is altering the game in real time, it disables the cheater’s ability to inflict critical damage on other players. This mitigation makes the cheater vulnerable to real players and allows #TeamRICOCHET to collect information directly from a cheater’s system “.
So when players encounter cheaters, they will become almost invincible. Indeed, the latter will not be able to inflict critical damage on them.. A novelty that will most likely delight players who do not cheat and who will be able to enjoy their game with more peace and serenity.
